Nighttime is the Right Time
Summer nights in Sea Isle City are hotter than ever! Things are always changing and getting better with the bar scene, and the summer of 2021 is no exception. Whether you are inside or out, there are plenty of venues to choose from and that includes the type of music you want to listen to.
The Oar House Pub, located at 318 42nd Place, is known for its pub-style food, craft beer selection and live entertainment seven nights a week. At the Oar House, you have a choice of three locations to catch your favorite musicians. Starting with the inside bar, every Tuesday night beginning at 10pm, Johnny Phatt will be playing popular acoustic tunes. Every Wednesday, Jerry Blavat, will be hosting happy hour. Every Thursday at 10pm is Goodman Fiske, and every Sunday Mike LeCompt is in the house. Friday and Saturday nights include bands such as Mystery Machine, The Insiders, Flamin’ Caucasians and FunZaLuv.
Step outside to the Alley bar, where the live acoustic entertainment plays every night of the week from 6-9. For weeknights, the performers are Dean Dunlevy (Monday), Nick Horn (Tuesday), Matt McPherson (Wednesday), Jamie Salvatore (Thursday) and Josh Liberio (Friday). Saturday and Sunday nights, the entertainment rotates including everyone who plays during the week and Andrew Jude.
We’re not done yet! Head out to the new deck bar, where there will be live entertainment from 5-9pm on the weekends and at times during the week. Monday nights, LeCompt will be playing. The lineup also will feature such bands as The Insiders and FunZaLuv. The schedule for the new deck bar is still being finalized, but you can check it out on oarhousepub.com/live-music-schedule.
“We are looking forward to the summer of 2021 being a great one!” says owner Jimmy Bennett. “We have a lot planned with entertainment and working on a new outdoor deck so everyone can have a cocktail and enjoy the beautiful Sea Isle weather while listening to their favorite entertainers.”
A visit to Sea Isle wouldn’t be complete without a night out at the Ocean Drive,
3915 Landis Ave., where there is live entertainment every night of the week starting at 9pm. The steady lineup includes Dueling Pianos (Monday), The Benderz (Tuesday), Secret Service (Wednesday) and Gypsy Wisdom (Thursday). Friday nights the acts change up and include everyone from Go Go Gadjet to The Benderz. Every Saturday, everyone’s favorite, the Juliano Brothers Band, starts at 4pm. Whether you are heading out for no-shower happy hour or are starting the evening early, the Juliano Brothers will get the party started! And, says co-owner Ralph Pescari, “Back for their 35th year, Secret Service is in the house every Sunday night and every Sunday afternoon.” All week long, in between sets, hit the dance floor for the hottest music by DJ Tommy B, DJ Joe B and DJ Ryno. If you would rather hang out outside with your toes in the sand, head out to the Sandbar Bar and Grille where there will be music playing and great food being served! Monday through Friday, there is live music from 5-9pm, including various acoustic acts playing your favorite songs. The steady lineup: Laura Lea (Monday), The Benderz Duo (Tuesday), Mike Thompson (Wednesday) and Tim and Tonic (Thursday). For a full menu and entertainment schedule, visit theod.com.
Just a block over is the only Irish pub in Sea Isle City, O’Donnell’s Pour House at 3907 Landis Ave. O’Donnell’s is the place to go when you want to grab some good food and hang with friends. There will be live music inside throughout the summer. Outside, there is Paddy’s Green that just opened last summer. There will be live music every day from 5-9pm. On Monday nights, try your hand at Quizzo. Every Tuesday night, the Juliano Brothers Band will take the stage. “We are really excited about the Juliano Brothers coming every Tuesday. They know how to entertain the crowd and have a large local following,” says co-owner Ralph Pescari. Other acts include Dueling Pianos, Deez2Guys and Eric Hinkles.
