ELLIE KUTSCHERA HONORED FOR ESSAY
Ellie Kutschera was recently honored for an essay she wrote for the Future Municipal Leaders Scholarship Competition. She was among four Cape May County residents chosen in the semifinals. The topic was “What does your municipality mean to you?” She wrote about Mark Evangelista, who worked for the preschool at Sea Isle Public School when she was a student. After the school closed, the building became the recreation building and she would see “Mr. Mark” there during after-school activities, including basketball and the New Year’s Eve event the school hosted for the kids each year. Kutschera would always see him around town with a big smile on his face, helping others. In her essay, she associated him with making Sea Isle City a better place.
