Bob Dylan released the song, “The Times They Are A-Changin’” in 1964. Sixty years later, they’re still a-changin’. One such example was evident on May 24, when demolition crews began work on the Strathmere Motel that had stood at 513 Commonwealth Ave. since 1923. According to The Township of Upper, the board has approved three single-family homes to replace the former 16-unit structure, but as of May 27 no applications had been filed. This iconic spot in Strathmere apparently held a special place in many hearts because this photo, on the Sea Isle Times Facebook page was viewed more than 48,000 times!
