Owners Michael Roberts, Ralph Pasceri and Patrick Pasceri are excited about the launch of their new outdoor dining space, Paddy’s Green at O’Donnell’s Pour House. The restaurant, located just north of O’Donnell’s Pour House, opened July 11.
“We couldn’t be happier with how Paddy’s Green turned out,” Ralph Pasceri says. “It is great to see the staff buzzing about making customers happy. We feel like summer’s finally come for O’Donnell’s Pour House.”
Paddy’s Green is an expansion of O’Donnell’s Pour House, and the Pour House menu is available at about half the tables in the new space. While the site can handle well over 200 new seats, social distancing means far fewer. To ensure the food and service standards for which O’Donnell’s is known, there is a mix of dining tables and cocktails-only tables. Paddy’s Green seating is available on a first come, first served basis. The restaurant is open daily at 4:30pm and offers seating for dinner until 9:30pm. The bar closes at 11:30pm. Plans for the new space also call for live music throughout the summer and special events throughout the year.
The property was purchased last summer, and the original concept and engineering had slightly different plans that would have debuted in the summer of 2021. But when the owners realized that the coronavirus pandemic would most certainly impact the ability to serve inside the Pour House this summer, a new plan was quickly executed. Mark Gibson and Bill Flynn of Gibson Associates met with the owners to revise the project in early April and things moved quickly after that. The team managed to move the project from demolition just days after Memorial Day to opening day in a little more than six weeks.
“We could never have done this without our remarkable team of contractors,” Pasceri says. “We’d especially like to thank our fantastic local contractors John McLaughlin and his team at O’Connor Landscaping, Clarence Smith from Clarence E. Smith Jr. Plumbing, the Pittaluga family from Pittaluga Electric, Pineland Construction, Gibson Associates Engineers, Neil Burns and all the great professionals in the Sea Isle City Building Department, the Sea Isle City Planning Board, Andy Previti and the team at Maser Consulting, and Forever Lawn of South Jersey. We also want to thank good friends Ed Bagden, of E.L Bagden Contractors, and Greg Sheridan [from Sheridan Express Company], who’s the creative force behind all the cool Irish signs and so much more, both of whom have helped us through several great projects.”
