Sea Isle City has a Whole Weekend Planned to Celebrate the Holiday, Filled with Family-Fun Activities

THURSDAY, JULY 4
Junior Olympics: Sea Isle’s annual Independence Day Junior Olympics competition for boys and girls, ages 3 to 12, will be held at Dealy Field on Thursday morning. This free, time-honored event is sponsored by the City and hosted by volunteers from the Yacht Club of Sea Isle City. Activities will include running, jumping, and throwing competitions. Kids will compete by age and gender, and Olympic-style medals will be presented to first-, second- and third-place finishers in each group. On-site registration begins at 9:30am, and the races are scheduled from 10am to approximately 11:30am. Families are reminded to bring hats, sunscreen, and bottled water for their Junior Olympians.
Fireworks: The Fourth of July fireworks display is scheduled for 9:15pm. The fireworks will be launched from an ocean barge near the 50th Street beach, making Sea Isle’s Promenade and beaches ideal viewing locations.
FRIDAY, JULY 5
NEW! Bicycle Decorating Contest & Family Dance Party: Children and their families are invited to decorate their pedal-powered bicycles, tricycles, strollers, scooters, and wagons and participate in the Recreation Office’s Bicycle Decorating Contest & Family Dance Party on Friday morning at Excursion Park, from 10am to noon. During this free event, judges will select winners with the best decorated “rides” in two categories: Individual Children up to age 12 (10-10:30am) and Families/Groups of Kids & Adults (10:30-11am). There will also be a grand prize for “Best in Show.” Registration for the Decorating Contest will begin at 9:45am and participants can choose any decorative theme they like. Families can also dance the morning away at the band shell, enjoy complimentary giveaways, play games on Excursion’s Park’s lawn, and ride along the Promenade to show off their displays. SATURDAY, JULY 6
Saturday Night Concert – Elvis Tribute: Jesse Garron’s Tribute to Elvis Presley will return to the Excursion Park band shell at 7:30pm. Jesse has been performing his tribute to “The King” since 1997, and he possesses the voice, looks and charisma that made Elvis a superstar. The concert is free, and spectators are reminded to bring folding chairs or beach blankets; the park’s benches fill up quickly.
