Kelce’s Beach Bash a Smash
Sea Isle City was once again the epicenter of all things Eagles Autism Foundation with Jason Kelce’s fourth annual Team 62 fundraiser on June 26 and 27. The two-day extravaganza began with a family-friendly event, ended in a “Beer Bowl,” and raised a staggering $865,000. And counting.
It Was a Circus, I Tell Ya!
Obviously, times have changed from Hemingway’s days. But there was a time when the circus coming to town was met with much excitement and great anticipation. It managed to bring smiles to lots of faces.
“It was a very big deal,” reminisces Mike Monichetti, the owner of Mike’s Seafood in Sea Isle City. “We’d close early the day of the circus so that everyone who worked for us could attend.”

The Diaper Derby baby crawling contest was a highlight of Sea Isle City’s annual Sara the Turtle Festival on June 24. The competition begins with non-walking babies gathered in the center of a colorful parachute on the lawn at Excursion Park.
A Lifetime, A Legacy: Mary Haffert Anninos
A lovely local lady who comforted those in mourning as a member of St. Joseph Church’s Bereavement Committee is now being widely bereaved. Surrounded by family, Sea Isle City’s Mary Haffert Anninos, 85, died serenely on March 23.

As of July 1, Cape Regional Health System joined Cooper University Health Care, enlarging the footprint of high-level medical services here. The facility in Cape May Court House is now called Cooper University Hospital Cape Regional.

The Sea Isle City Beach Patrol hosted 64 female guards at the annual South Jersey Women’s Lifeguard Conference on June 26. The conference included attendees from 16 beach patrols along the New Jersey coast, including Atlantic City, Avalon, Brigantine, Cape May, Cape May Point, Diamond Beach, Longport, Margate, North Wildwood, Ocean City, Sea Girt, Sea Isle City, Upper Township, Ventnor, Wildwood, and Wildwood Crest.
