Abigail Craige graduated early from the Batten Honors College at Virginia Wesleyan University in December 2023. The daughter of Doug and Amy Craige of Sea Isle City, she graduated cum laude with a degree in earth and environmental science.
A Lifetime, A Legacy: Carmel Desiderio
Carmel Desiderio was delivered into this world by her grandmother on her grandparents’ kitchen table on April 14, 1928 in Newark, N.J. The longtime Sea Isle City resident died at home on April 3, 2024 … just 11 days short of her 96th birthday.

STUDENT DONATES PEDIATRIC BEACH WHEELCHAIR
On Sunday, May 26, Dylan Breen and his family donated a pediatric beach wheelchair to the Sea Isle City Beach Wheelchair Program. The high school student from Downingtown, Pa., raised funds for the wheelchair as his senior class project. The donation is the first pediatric beach wheelchair to join Sea Isle’s fleet.
Days Gone By
Bob Dylan released the song, “The Times They Are A-Changin’” in 1964. Sixty years later, they’re still a-changin’. One such example was evident on May 24, when demolition crews began work on the Strathmere Motel that had stood at 513 Commonwealth Ave. since 1923.
